  My father passed away in Florida last September and in the immediate fog that followed, my family and I did not know where to begin to handle all the logistics; to get the body flown up to NY and organize a funeral. Our cemetery, Montefiore, recommended Shalom Memorial Chapels in Smithtown, NY. We worked with Ron, the Funeral Director and to say that he saved us is an understatement. My Dad was the first person close to me that died and my brother and I did not know what decisions to make according to our religion but Ron guided us through every single thing; he advised what is customary, costs involved, I was very particular about my father's coffin and he provided exactly what I envisioned. He contacted the funeral home in Florida, booked a flight and organized the burial service... all within 48 hours!! He was heroic, a true professional, kind, calm, respectful, organized, thoughtful...I don't have enough positive adjectives to describe him. The hearse was a modern black Cadillac, I felt as if my Dad was going out in style.
  
  Ron took charge of every detail, always apprising us along the way and let us grieve without worrying about all the logistics, he was our savior. There is tremendous comfort knowing that my father's last hours on earth were handled in the best possible way without stressing out my family and for that I could not thank Ron at Shalom Memorial Chapels enough.

  Shalom Memorial Chapels handled the arrangements for my mother's funeral and we were extremely pleased with their services. They listened to us and put together a program that was just what we wanted. it was also competitively priced and very well executed.
